Privacy Policy

Transparency around how we handle professional profiles, job applications, and communications across the WorkDest platform.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the WorkDest website, mobile apps, and API-powered products that connect job seekers and employers. It covers personal data you provide directly, data generated through your use of the platform, and information sourced from third-party integrations such as applicant tracking systems or calendar tools.

2. Information we collect

Account & identity

Name, email, phone, pronouns, location, job titles, employment history, education, certification details, and profile media you upload.

Professional activity

Saved jobs, applications, interview availability, in-app messages, referrals, and analytics about profile views.

Device & usage

Log files, IP address, browser/user agent, language, cookie identifiers, and product telemetry that helps us troubleshoot. Where analytics are enabled (see Section 8), this also includes an app-instance identifier and, when you are signed in, a WorkDest user ID used for aggregate product analytics.

Third-party data

With your consent we may import resume data, ATS workflow context, or productivity tool calendars to keep hiring workflows synced.

3. How we use your data

  • Match candidates with relevant jobs.
  • Help companies manage their pipelines, interviews, compliance, and offer approvals.
  • Send transactional updates (interview reminders, status changes, billing receipts).
  • Provide personalized recommendations, benchmarks, and salary insights.
  • Detect fraud, spam, or abusive behavior to keep the marketplace trustworthy.
  • Fulfill regulatory or contractual obligations (KYC/AML, tax statements).

4. Legal bases

We process personal data under legitimate interest (platform safety and product improvement), contractual necessity (delivering the services you request), and consent (marketing emails, optional integrations, and analytics where required). Where required, we rely on your explicit consent for sensitive data such as diversity signals.

5. Data retention

Profiles and hiring activity remain active while you maintain an account. We archive dormant records after 24 months and purge backups within 30 days of deletion. Billing records are retained for at least 7 years to meet financial compliance requirements.

6. Sharing & transfers

  • Employers and recruiters you apply to or collaborate with.
  • Infrastructure partners (cloud hosting, payment processors) bound by DPAs, and Google LLC as our analytics processor (Google Analytics and Google Analytics for Firebase), under Google's data processing terms.
  • Legal authorities when required to enforce law, prevent fraud, or defend our rights.
  • Successor entities in the event of a merger or acquisition, governed by equivalent safeguards.

We use Standard Contractual Clauses for cross-border transfers and continuously monitor vendor adherence to security best practices.

7. Your privacy controls

Depending on your region, you may:

  • Access, correct, or export the data stored about you.
  • Deactivate or delete your WorkDest account at any time.
  • Opt out of marketing communications via email footer links.
  • Adjust visibility so only employers you apply to can see your profile.
  • Appeal automated decisions related to candidate screening.

8. Cookies, analytics & tracking technologies

WorkDest uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies to operate the service securely and, where you consent, to understand how the platform is used. We do not sell personal data and we do not use advertising trackers.

Essential cookies

We set strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to protect the service, for example session and refresh tokens. These are required for the platform to function, are always enabled, and do not require consent.

Analytics

Where you give consent, we use Google Analytics (on the website) and Google Analytics for Firebase (in the mobile apps) to measure how WorkDest is used, such as pages and features visited, app interactions, and basic diagnostic data. Analytics data may include an app-instance identifier, device information such as operating system and browser, and, when you are signed in, a WorkDest user ID. We use this information in aggregate to improve the product.

Consent

  • Website: analytics run only after you accept the cookie banner. Analytics cookies are not set if you decline.
  • Mobile apps: analytics collection is off by default. In regions that require it (the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland) we ask for your consent before enabling analytics. Where consent is not required by law, analytics may be enabled without a prompt.
  • We do not collect the iOS Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) or the Android advertising ID, and we do not use analytics data for personalized advertising.

Managing your choice

You can change or withdraw your analytics consent at any time: on the website via the “Cookie Preferences” link in the footer, and in the mobile apps via Settings → “Cookie Preferences”. Declining removes any analytics cookies already stored, and you can also clear cookies in your browser or device settings.
